Rice Starch Provides Natural Remedy for Eczema and Damaged Skin

That was the headline of a news release in June, 2003 from New Jersey based A&B Ingredients, a leading supplier of rice-based starches for the food and cosmetic industries. We heard about A&B and rice-bran oils and starches in our email conversations with other soapers throughout the country, so we had to investigate it ourselves. The result is a soap that is selling extremely well for us at shows and Farmers’ Markets.

Of course, we tried it ourselves first and found it not only a smooth and gentle feeling bar of soap, but also worked well as a shampoo bar. Charlotte started off the soap with the lye water itself being rice water, having soaked rice in the water prior to adding the lye. Then the base was enriched with rice bran oil and further improved with the addition of unrefined shea butter, coca butter and avocado oil. There’s no fragrance oil or essential oil added to this soap. We’ve had a good response with it so far. Seems there are a lot of people out there looking for a soap for really sensitive skin. We’ve called it Above and Beyond.

Above and Beyond
Rice starch provides a natural remedy for eczema and damaged skin. This one starts out special with rice water in the base, then adds the riches of coco butter, unrefined shea butter, avocado oil and rice bran oil. No fragrance or essential oils. A very special soap!

Only $4.25
